Cleopatra na Onnatachi [J-drama] - Cosmetic Surgery Issue

In the middle of exam stress I still get time to watch J-drama lol. I had my final oral Japanese exam yesterday, which means I ended my Japanese class after 4 years at the University already /stillcantbelieveit.. Now I'm working on another exam paper and then the final Bachelor project. So close to graduating!!

Anyway, to the topic of this post! I watched the first episode of a new drama currently airing

クレオパトラな女たち - Cleopatra na Onnatachi
Of course I only started watching it because it features one of my favorite actors Miura Shohei XD (What else to expect from a crazy fangirl!?)

Cosmetic surgery is the big topic in this drama which I find pretty interesting. The story is set at a cosmetic surgery clinic run by only women until the main character, a young surgeon named Kishi Minetaro played by Sato Ryuta, starts working at the clinic. He is actually against cosmetic surgery, dislikes women and can't see the further meaning in operating on a 'perfectly healthy body' for only cosmetic purpose. However, due to personal reasons, he has to work at the clinic for the sake of money.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this drama will evolve. So far it seems like the main character's opinion of cosmetic surgery will slowly change as he works at the clinic and meets the patients. I feel most J-dramas' stories are pretty predictable, however in this case I'm not too sure. I guess most of us know about Asia's larger acceptance of cosmetic surgery compared to the west (apart from Hollywood ofc). Japan is not as 'active' in this industry as South Korea for example, but I actually don't think it is that different in the end (no offense, just being factual). I'm also thinking about what the story's message is. If it's trying to change anti-cosmetic opinions or just to create more understanding and acceptance of the subject?

Well, I guess we will know when the drama ends!!

My personal opinion?
Well, I'm not against cosmetic surgery, neither am I pro-cosmetic surgery. I can understand specific cases, but if it is ONLY for cosmetic purposes and to 'improve' your appearance, I believe the problem lies elsewhere than a physical dissatisfaction with your body. But well, it is proven that physical change can change your mind set as well. Sooo.... Whatever makes you happy! That is my general opinion I think.

What is your opinion of cosmetic surgery? Are you pro or anti?

My 10 favorite Japanese actors

***WARNING: Lots of FANGIRLISM***
Yes here it is. I just couldn't help it XD

I have an unhealthy addiction to dramas, and I have been watching awfully many lately.. sometimes I wonder what other students do in their freetime (^~^;)ゞ yesIknowIhavenolife

As I study Japanese, I try to watch mostly Japanese dramas for learning and listening as well.. I'm not sure whether I have a favorite FAV actor since it always changes a bit depending on what dramas I'm watching (・`ω´・) But the first 3 actors are my currently absolute favs and they are not in ranked order! (>3<)/

1) Kamenashi Kazuya
I'm currently in love with Kame lol ♥ I'm not particularly a fan of KAT-TUN, but I love his acting..! I saw him the first time in Nobuta wo Produce but at that time Yamapi caught my attention more. But after watching Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, 1 Pound no Fukuin and Yokai Ningen Bem I simply fell in love (´ ▽`).。o♡ and that's also the latest list of dramas I've watched lol
I was really surprised by his different energetic role in 1 Pound no Fukuin, but totally loved it too ♫

2) Miura Shohei
I swear.. he has the cutest smile ever (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) He's still kinda new and doesn't have any lead roles yet.. But I still love him ♥ I first saw him in Gokusen 3 and Koizora, but his roles there were so minor I didn't notice.. But then I watched Tumbling and was head over heels XD Followed by Shima Shima and the current airing Hungry! drama. I hope he will get a leading role soon!!

3) Yamamoto Yusuke
Yusuke has been one of my absolute favs since his role as ghost guy in Hana Kimi. Thereafter I've watched several others of his dramas, most recent Ouran High School Host Club and Tumbling. I loved him as Tamaki in Ouran, I would never have expected him in such a role but he was absolutely perfect imo! ♥ Super cute and lovable! Seeing him as yankee in Tumbling was quite funny as well.. gawd.. ♫

Paradise Kiss - Live Action Movie

I won't deny it, I'm a HUGE fan of Paradise Kiss the manga. And I love the 'pre-story' Gokinjo no Monogatari (Neighborhood story) as well. I heard they would make a Live Action of the manga last year but haven't watched it until now since I heard a lot of bad reviews about it.. And I was really disappointed by the poor quality of the anime as well, so I really wondered how a live action would turn out. But to my surprise, I really liked it!

Even though it's different than the manga, and they changed the story, I still quite liked it. I especially really liked how they made the studio look almost exactly like the one from the manga, from the entrance to the room, the couch where Yukari wakes up, and the bar and stuff (◕‿◕✿)

I know a lot of people might have complained and disliked it from the beginning due to the difference in character appearance from the original story. I was a bit disappointed as well, but I still think the actors managed to bring out the characters' personally well which I think is the most important.
Aaaand! Yusuke Yamamoto was in it as well so I HAD to watch it at some point lol *slaps self* Well I was a bit surprised by him playing Hiro, but it was cute ♥

Keiko Kitagawa that plays Yukari is sooo pretty as well (*´▽`*) I think she fits Yukari pretty well.
Aya Oomasa that played Miwako was cute, but I would have imagined Miwako a bit smaller and 'child-like'.
Isabella was quite surprising!! I was REALLY wondering how they would portray Isabella, but I think that was really well done.
I'm not quite a fan Osamu Mukai, but it wasn't too bad with him as George..

The filming, scenography, and music was good as well I think, especially compared to other live actions which I think tend to be produced a bit cheap.

Well, I'm a sucker for those kind of love stories as well and I really enjoyed it! Although the original story will always be the best ofc (∩_∩) I'd say the movie is somehow shallow as they don't have time to get in depth with the other characters which is a shame. Especially the story with Miwako, Arashi and Hiro is really touching, but the movie kinda 'skipped' that pretty fast which is really sad (´∩`。)
But I guess that's typical with many stories made into movies and so on.

Did anyone else watch it? And if so, what did you think??

After I watched the movie I felt like reading the manga once again lol (T▽T)

And this scene!! Lol Yusuke ♥ I'd never dump you!! (●´∀`)ノ♡ lololol ok sorry I'll stop now >_>;

I'd say this is one of the best live action movies I've seen so far, especially with filming and stuff (∩_∩)

lolol and TWO J-drama/movie reviews in a row.. says a lot about what I'm doing XD

Tumbling with Yusuke Yamamoto ♥

ひさしぶりー! Long time no see everyone!

I'm currently watching 'Tumbling' with my all-time favorite Japanese actor Yusuke Yamamoto!

I've watched most dramas and movies containing him (lol crazy fangirl), but for some reason I didn't watch this one before now (maybe because of the super gay picture lolololol). I must say it's a typical hilarious high school drama with delinquents slowly turning into 'good guys'. But I'm really enjoying it and it's only a bonus it contains so many ikemen (●♡∀♡)

The plot taken from wiki.d-addicts
Azuma Wataru, a third-year student at Karasumori High School, is a devil who strikes fear in the hearts of people. One day, Azuma is told by his form teacher that he has to participate in a club activity in order to make up for the lack of second-year points. The short-tempered Azuma cannot last long in whatever he does. At that moment, he learns that Satonaka Mari, the beautiful transfer student in his class, has joined the female rhythmic sports gymnastics club. He joins the male rhythmic sports gymnastics club, a club activity with very few people under the captain, Takenaka Yuta. They are ridiculed by the coach of the female rhythmic sports gymnastics club, and others, and are also hardly allowed to use the gym. However, when a sixth boy joins the club, Yuta decides to take part in a team competition with his long-sought six members …
Aah... sooo gay lol XD It's lovely ♥

While watching this, besides drooling over Yusuke, I got a huuuuuuge crush on Miura Shohei!
Omg he's sooo cute!!! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) #foreverfangirl

Has anyone else watched it? (☆^ー^☆)

Other than that I haven't been doing anything besides being totally hikikomori watching drama and anime non-stop (yesIhavenolife), which is why I haven't blogged. I'm currently trying to catch up on studying as well since I'm starting school again next week, studying for exams and stuff.. so stressful as always (ノ ̄д ̄)ノ

Oh yeah and I got Twitter as you might have noticed on the sidebar thingie.
Feel free to follow me (`・ω・´)”

That was all!
Upcoming Valentine makeup tutorial next month (◕‿◕✿)

And thanks for all the comments on the previous post!!

Yankee-kun to... fake nails!

Yesterday's outfit..
Curled hair and more natural looking lashes (even though you can't see them unless you're close >.>)
Yesterday I went out on a little "date" with my bf. We wanted to watch the new movie "Legend of the Guardians - The Owls of Ga'Hoole" and only Cinemaxx showed the movie that day so we went to the shopping center Fisketorvet before going to the movies. I bought a cardigan and a sweater/dress (it's actually navy even though it looks black)

I fell in love with both and they're also really warm and comfortable <3
After that we went to a restaurant to eat - and realized I'd dropped my cellphone ∑(O_O;) I was almost certain that I dropped it in the shop where I bought my clothes since it was the only time I took my jacket off.. I remembered hearing a "clock!" but when I looked on the floor there was nothing.. -_-' So annoying - but luckily I got it back today.. My mom wrote an email and told me they had called from the shop and my cell phone was there *phew*
But otherwise I LOVED the movie!!! I didn't really have any expectations even though I hated Happy Feet - but it was SO beautiful, epic and lovely at the same time that I was mesmerized from the beginning ^^' I'll definitely buy it when it comes out on dvd ♡\(・∀・*)

Friday my bf played a concert and I decided that this was the day to try wearing fake nails \(--)/
I got these from my friend Rose.. I found out I love fake nails - but hate the fact that I can't really do.. anything ヽ(o`皿′o)ノ But I'm getting more used to it.. And I wanted to do some big hair so I made a high ponytail, back-combed it and made a big side fringe :3 However I'd forgotten it was "J-dag" and I went out to the concert place alone....... But nothing happened besides lots of stares ζ~(∂_∂)~ζ
There were some REALLY mean and annoying people at the concert place -.- It was a rather small place and 4 bands played in total. It was all some sub-genre of rock but nothing like the music my bf's band was playing - so people were shouting things like "Go home and cry!" or just booo'ing.. Kinda astonishing thus I felt like beating their sorry asses... Fine if you don't like the music - but you don't need to act like a fucking retard... Anygay....

Today I finally finished Jo's top - I'm really pleased with the outcome! But I'm still a n00b since it's my first homemade cosplay >_>' And I have to color the fabric for the pants again in some other way since it turned out rosy-colored after drying.. Not stressful at all since there's less than a week for J-popcon and the pants is the most difficult part (*゜Д゜*) *cries*
I'm watching this J-drama right now "Yankee-kun to Megane-chan" it's really funny! And with one of my fav actors Narimiya Hiroki *fangirling* Based on the manga with some title (I haven't read) and kinda the regular highschool goes Yakuza crazy story with cheesy messages.. But I still enjoy it ヽ(* ̄o ̄*)>

Hope you all had a nice weekend!
